The Havre de Grace Green Team: Working for a Greener Community
Havre de Grace is fortunate to have many volunteers who care deeply about the environment and the future of our community. One group leading these efforts is the Havre de Grace Green Team, a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable practices throughout our city.
Founded by community members who share a passion for protecting local natural resources, the Green Team works on a variety of projects that help educate residents and improve the health of our local environment. Their work includes initiatives such as community gardens, pollinator habitat projects, food forests, waste reduction efforts, and educational programs that encourage residents to take part in caring for the environment.
One of their notable efforts is helping Havre de Grace become a Bee City USA affiliate, highlighting the importance of pollinators and native plants in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Through pollinator gardens and community outreach, the Green Team helps raise awareness about the vital role bees and other pollinators play in our food systems and natural landscapes.
