Walking through the Tulips

A Future Vision for Havre de Grace

One of the long-term dreams of Havre de Grace in Bloom is to create a spring experience we call “Walking Through the Tulips.”

Inspired by the spectacular tulip plantings in Lewes, Delaware, where more than 30,000 tulips bloom each spring, this future project would bring waves of vibrant color to Havre de Grace. Imagine strolling along garden paths surrounded by thousands of tulips in full bloom—reds, yellows, pinks, and purples welcoming the arrival of spring.

Our vision is to create beautiful seasonal plantings in a location where residents and visitors can slow down, take photos, and simply enjoy the beauty of the season. A tulip walk could eventually become a spring tradition for our community, drawing people downtown to experience Havre de Grace in a new and colorful way.

Projects like this take planning, volunteers, and community support, but they also start with a simple idea: planting beauty that brings people together.

Through Havre de Grace in Bloom, we hope to continue building initiatives that celebrate nature, inspire community pride, and make our city even more welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
